We went to Kyoto at the end of our trip in the middle of November 2017. I didn’t think it would be super-touristy at that time of year (probably because November in Montreal is an extremely dismal month…) but Kyoto was PACKED.

We stayed halfway between Gion and Ponto-cho, and it’s definitely a great place to see the scenery! We were in walking distance of the river and so many temples. and the most densely-packed pedestrian streed I think I’ve ever walked on (outside of the old city in Quebec on a festival day…) Besides that, there was Nishiki Market right around the corner and it was one of my favourite places despite how full of people it was!
