Azar's borders are slightly misleading. In the north they're drawn to coexist with Findain, but a southern border only exists on paper. There is no southern end to Azar; the country extends its reach into the desert until it is uninhabitable. Only a small minority of nomadic tribes live there, while the rest of the Azarran people live split between the magnificent citadels and the lush farmland around them.
Azar is second only to Findain in population and power of trade. It is famous for its fine goods, exotic items and produce, and it is the source of the finest parchments and paper of all the Seven Kingdoms. The principality is also quite well-known for it's many enchanted goods, scholars, thaumaturgical students (and the Azar Academy in which they study) as well as the remarkably unreliable (and universally infamous) flying carpets in circulation.
The countryside consists of huge, densely populated cities with green lands sprawling between them. The whole is ruled by Princess Aestrea IX with the help of the regents of each major city. The climate ranges from tropical and humid in the northwestern delta, to semi-arid near the center to parched desert in the south, past which no adventurer has ever gone and come back alive.
